Children In Yorkshire First To Benefit From Jon Egging Trust’s New Partnership

A small classroom of young students were treated to a very productive leadership session which was conducted by The Jon Egging Trust. The session was held at Leeming Primary school and focused on transforming the lives of young people who face barriers to learning.

The charity invited a special guest from their corporate partner – SecureCloud+ to host a session for the young kids who are nearly all service personnel’s children. One of SecureCloud+ ‘s employees, Team leader- Carole Reeves-Boulton contributed to the session and gave the class inspiring words on developing life and work skills as well as overcoming challenges. The programme was well received by the classroom as they participated and engaged during the session, enabling them to move out of their comfort zone.

Employer Recognition Scheme – Gold Award

SecureCloud+ are delighted to be announced as recipients of the Employer Recognition Scheme Gold Award by the Ministry of Defence. As part of our achievement, Rt Hon Ben Wallace MP presented SecureCloud+ the coveted award at the National Army Museum on the 12th November.

This is an incredible achievement for SecureCloud+ as it symbolises our commitment to the armed forces. The company has surpassed the pledge as they have been praised for supporting many outreach programs in conjunction with the Armed Forces.

RAF Festival of Football 2019

Last week the SecureCloud+ team participated in the RAF Festival of Football by fielding their very own 5-aside team. In the festival there were 24 teams participating comprised of various RAF sponsors and RAF station football teams. The festival was held at the Fives Soccer Centre Trafford in Manchester.

It was fantastic to see various RAF football teams participating alongside the sponsors during the day. During the later stages of the festival, SecureCloud+’s Rob Gittins completed the second draw for the RAF Challenge Cup which was widely anticipated by the attendees. Amongst the attendees were Flt Lt Phil Wilmot of the RAF FA Sponsorship team and Wg Cdr Neil Hope, the FA Council member for the RAF FA.

The festival had a great turnout with numerous members of the RAF family attending the day to support their RAF stations. RAF Marham claimed the title after a great comeback in the final against RAF Halton coming from 2-0 down and winning 3-2 with a last-minute goal. RAF Benson won the plate defeating RAF Waddington on penalties in that final.


Women in Aviation Club Dinner

SecureCloud+ are pleased to have attended the Women in Aviation Club Dinner hosted by The Royal Air Force Club. The event was held as a celebration for women in service. The Royal Air Force are delighted with the contribution of women throughout the history of the Service and held the formal dinner in their honour. The evening was one of celebration as many servicemen and women attended as well as members of the RAF Women’s Rugby Union.

In attendance of the event was Air Marshal Sue Gray who was the ambassador of Women in Aviation. She recently became the RAF’s first female 3* officer and the most senior female military officer in the British Armed Forces. She was joined by other trailblazing women, who have helped push the limits of possibility for women in the Royal Air Force in recent years – challenging stereotypes across the service.


SecureCloud+ – UKAF Rugby partner for the IDRC

people standing infront of bannerSecureCloud+ have been named an official UKAF Rugby partner for the team’s participation in the International Defence Rugby Competition (IDRC). The Company’s partnership with the UKAF Rugby team is beneficial for all involved and extends their ongoing support of the RAF Rugby, especially with the upcoming RAF Girls Festival of Rugby.

In preparation for the tournament, SecureCloud+ hosted a pre-tour dinner with members of the UKAF Rugby team and their supporters. SecureCloud+ will also be providing the team with sporting accessories in preparation for their matches in Japan. Additionally, the competition will coincide with the Rugby World Cup, which is also being held in Japan and commences shortly after. Sgt Lee, Head coach of UKAF Rugby said, “I’m excited about taking the UK Armed Forces team out to compete in the IDRC and to add that it’s being held in Japan, just before the Rugby World Cup, is a huge bonus.”

SecureCloud+ is delighted to be playing a part in the build up to this event. Particularly as the Company feels that the tournament expresses the true excitement of participating in events outside of day-to-day armed forces duties.

SecureCloud+ in collaboration with CodeNation

SecureCloud+ are delighted with our ongoing collaboration with CodeNation. CodeNation are a cyber security academy based in Manchester that deliver Cyber Technologist apprenticeships and courses.  Earlier last month, Bradley from our Crewe office embarked on a 12-week Cyber boot camp at their academy. This is a tremendous opportunity to enable Bradley to excel in his career in cyber security. Like SecureCloud+, CodeNation believe in the development of the next generation.

As a Company, we strongly believe in investing in our employees which is why we encourage our employees to enrol in courses and certifications to further their knowledge in their respective fields. Jack Wright from SecureCloud+ delivered a presentation as part of the CodeNation course earlier this week to showcase one of our Case Studies as part of the students’ cyber module. Chris from CodeNation said, ‘Jack specifically spoke in detail about cloud technologies. He went into great detail regarding the personal and private cloud and discussed the preference of a hybrid. Our juniors really got a lot out of the session and provided some really good feedback.’

Moving forward, SecureCloud+ will continually have an ongoing relationship with CodeNation whilst also looking to promote the recruitment of young minds that specialise in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) subjects.


Jon Egging Trust hosts showcase day

Earlier this week, SecureCloud+ CEO Peter Williamson had the opportunity to fly alongside Nick English from Bremont in his Broussard.  The focus of the day was our continued support to the Jon Egging Trust and the inspiring work they do developing young people’s life and work skills. Nick English, co-founder of the award-winning British luxury watch brand – Bremont, flew the 1957 Max Holste MH-1621M Broussard aircraft as part of their contribution to raising funds for the Jon Egging Trust.

Peter Williamson said “The whole event was great. Due to Bremont’s generosity in providing yesterday’s event as an auction prize, it has enabled the trust to benefit and for our  organisations, who have a similar ethos, to work together closer on community outreach projects.‘’

Graduates attend Royal Marines Cricket match

On one of the hottest days recorded in the UK, SecureCloudgraduates, alongside senior members of our team were invited to support the Royal Marines Cricket Club.    

The SecureCloud+ team all agreed that it was a fantastic day for a sizzling game of cricket which captured the excitement and tradition of cricket. The result was in the Royal Marines favour as they won with only 1 wicket to spare which ensured that spirits were high during the awards ceremony, courtesy of SecureCloud+.  

We are pleased to play an active role in supporting the Royal Marines Cricket Club and would like to thank the entire team for their outstanding hospitality.

ISO 27001 & ISO 9001SecureCloud+ are delighted to announce that we have passed our ISO 27001 and ISO 9001 certification following our annual visit from the British Assessment Bureau on Monday 1st July 2019. The auditors systematically went through the clauses of both standards to verify our compliance which resulted in zero major and zero minor non-conformances.  A tremendous result.
