Cyber Essentials is a government endorsed scheme introduced to ensure the protection of data. The scheme identifies fundamental security controls against common cyber threats. Cyber Essentials was developed in collaboration with industry partners such as the Information Security Forum, the Information Assurance for Small and Medium Enterprises Consortium, and the British Standards Institution.
SecureCloud+ is proud to announce we have been awarded the Cyber Essentials PLUS certification. The scheme follows similar principles to Cyber Essentials with additional stringent requirements which are audited by an external certifying body, using specific tools, techniques and processes.
This accreditation highlights to our customers our commitment to preserving the integrity of our customers’ information assets to fulfil both contractual obligations and security, statutory, legislative and regulatory best practice.

We were fortunate to host Chief of the Air Staff, Sir Stephen Hillier, at SecureCloud+ in Reading. It was a worthwhile afternoon discussing plans for RAF 100 including the Static Aircraft Display Tour and the buzz surrounding the STEM Zone.
It was also a great opportunity to chat about the RAF Girls Festival of Rugby at RAF Halton on 29th April, which we are supporting and all the outstanding work that our Martin Hancock is doing with the Cyber Cadets – circa 6,000 cadets now have a cyber certification which is outstanding! We also ran through a couple capability demonstrations…..a great afternoon.

Over the last three years it has been our pleasure to support the RAF Cadets during the two weeks they spend at RAF Cosford at the Cyber Gold Camps. This year’s event, like the others, was a huge success. The energy and teamwork that emanated from the group this year was infectious making it a really rewarding two weeks being part of the training schedule. An inspirational bunch with bright futures ahead of them.
We were delighted to welcome AM Osborn to our new offices in Reading. Amongst other things we discussed the up and coming RAF rugby season and plans for the next RAF Girls Festival of Rugby which is supported by SecureCloud+ and is to be held once again at RAF Halton. This year the event welcomed over 400 girls from U13s, U15s and U18s age groups – with the buzz around this year’s event already building we anticipate it will double in size!
The Cyber Essentials scheme is a key deliverable of the UK’s National Cyber Security Programme and we are proud to announce we have once again achieved certification. Cyber Essentials is a government-backed cyber security certification scheme that provides a clear statement of the basic controls which should be implemented to mitigate the risk from common internet based threats and provides a baseline to build upon. The scheme addresses five key controls that, when implemented correctly, can prevent around 80% of cyber-attacks.
We were delighted to once again join the amazing athletes from the AFPST at their annual charity dinner. The Service charity exists to accelerate the recovery of wounded, injured or sick military personnel and veterans. This is achieved by the medium of performance alpine skiing, snowboarding and Nordic/biathlon, providing a winter sports focus for disabled athletes to regain their spirit of challenge and competition. We urge you to visit their Facebook page to see all these outstanding athletes in action.
We felt privileged to receive an invitation to this year’s Founder’s Day at the Royal Hospital Chelsea where Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex reviewed the Chelsea Pensioners at the annual Founder’s Day parade. This event is the highlight of the Royal Hospital Chelsea’s calender and commemorates the founding of the home of the Chelsea Pensioners in 1682 by King Charles II. Gary Lashko CEO and the in-pensioners made us feel extremely welcome and we thank them for sharing their 325th anniversary with us.
