On Remembrance Day, SecureCloud+ teamed up with the Art Café in Whitchurch-on-Thames to host an art show in aid of Combat Stress. Combat Stress is unique in integrating the use of Art Therapy and Occupational Therapy in treating ex-servicemen and women suffering with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Both treatments combine creative expression with reflective discussion to encourage positive change.
Several pieces created by veterans were on display ranging from mixed media to sculptures – the common theme throughout was how emotive and moving each piece was. The turnout for the event was impressive with people from the local community, the military and industry attending and raising over £1,000 for a truly worthy cause.
Sue Freeth, Chief Executive at Combat Stress said;
“We are so grateful to SecureCloud+ for holding their Art22 show in aid of Combat Stress.
“For many veterans, Art Therapy and Occupational Therapy are a key part of their recovery and it’s great that some of the work produced in their sessions was on display at this art show on Remembrance Day.
“Over the last five years we have seen a 71% increase in referrals, so fundraising by companies like SecureCloud+ is vital to ensure we are able to continue to support every veteran that comes to us for help.”
Thanks again to all of you who contributed to these events.
